CulturaltourismisarisingindustryinChina.Nowadays,therapiddevelopmentofChina鈥檚tourismhasalreadybecomethefocusofattentionfromhomeandabroad.In2015,Chinaledtheworldinbothoutboundandinboundtourismintermsoftouristflowandmoneyspentdomesticallyandinternationally.
Culturaltourism,asanimportantpieceofthetourismindustry,isbecominganewengineforChina鈥檚economicgrowthagainstthebackdropofChina鈥檚鈥渘ewnormal,鈥漰ushedbythecountry鈥檚hugeconsumptionmarketandguidedbypreferablemacropolicy.AmidsteconomicrecessionintheAsia-Pacificregion,culturaltourismispositionedtoinjectnewenergyintothearea鈥檚economicdevelopment.
AccordingtorecentstatisticsfromtheWorldTravelandTourismCouncil(WTTC),theAsia-Pacificregiontooktheleadintermsofthetouristgeneratingmarket,andremainedthesecondmost-visitedareaintheworld.In2015,ChinesepeopletravelingoverseasspentatotalofUS$215billion,anincreaseof53percentyearonyear.AccordingtoWTTC,asChina鈥檚outboundtourismindustryflourishes,thecountryhasbecometheworld鈥檚secondlargesttravelandtourismeconomyaftertheU.S.Itisexpectedthatinthenexttenyears,thecountry鈥檚tourismindustrywillgrowatanannualrateof7percent,farmorethantheworld鈥檚rateof4percent,andwillsurpasstheU.S.by2024.
Domestically,withthearrivalofthemasstourismera,themodernserviceindustrywithculturaltourismasamajorpiece,hasdominatedalargeshareofChina鈥檚nationaleconomy.
OnSeptember25,2014,theChinaNationalTourismAdministrationissuedalistof135excellenttourismprojectsthatyear.Morethan80percentofprojectsonthelistarerelatedtoculturaltourism.InsomemoredevelopedChinesecitiessuchasBeijingandShanghai,therateisalmost100percent.Nowadays,thecountry鈥檚culturaltourismisnolongeronlyaboutexploringexistingculturalresources,butrathercreatingandproducingresourcesforculturaltourism.Comparedtoexistingculturalresources,theemergingnewresourcesforculturaltourismfeaturetechnology,culturaldiversity,andmoreeye-catchingappearances.
